2026 has been a year of change for us. We started the year with a difficult decision to close Moonlight after 46 years and sell off all our stocks. Moonlight closed as planned in March but in the process something rather marvelous happened. Following a huge surge in support from  MFD fans in Indonesia, we were able to give My First Discoveries a new lease of life through the creation of a new company with a different business model (JCPS), a new co-edition partnership with Little Razy in Indonesia and a new co-edition series for My First Discoveries. It has been a roller-coaster ride, but one with a happy ending for MFD! Here is how it all happened.

December 2025

  • John and James Clement decide to close Moonlight Publishing Ltd and cease the company’s operations by 31 March 2026
  • Moonlight starts to sell off all its remaining stock.

February 2026

  • The announcement of the closure of Moonlight on social media produces an unprecedented reaction amongst MFD fans in Indonesia.
  • Little Razy, a long-term partner of Moonlight’s, sells 10,000 copies of My First Discoveries in Indonesia within a period of 5 days.
  • Little Razy and Moonlight begin to discuss a coedition partnership for MFD in Indonesia.
  • The Clement family decides to proceed with the closure of Moonlight Publishing Ltd, but to transfer the company’s assets to a new company with a different business model based on co-edition partnerships in South East Asia.

March 2026

  • James Clement Publishing Services (JCPS) is established.
  • Moonlight Publishing’s coedition and distribution rights for MFD, all remaining stocks and social media assets are transferred to JCPS.
  • Moonlight Publishing Ltd ceases operations on 31 March.

April/May 2026

  • Little Razy becomes the exclusive distribution and co-edition partner for MFD in Indonesia.
  • The publication of the first 12 titles in a new hardback edition of the MFD series is planned for November 2026.

Sept 2026

  • Following very strong pre-sales of the the first 12 titles in Indonesia, JCPS and Moonlight agree on the publication of a further 8 titles for April 2027

October 2026

What will 2027 bring?
Who knows, but the future is looking bright for MFD!
