Series

Our two main series are My First Discoveries and First Discovery Music.

• In My First Discoveries, beautiful design and captivating illustrations hold children’s attention, spark their curiosity and facilitate understanding. The transparent overlay pages reveal hidden surprises, link ideas and show how things evolve.
• The First Discovery Music series consists of illustrated biographies about the famous classical composers and jazz musicians and is aimed at children aged 8 years and upwards. On the accompanying audio CD, the narration of the story is interwoven with recordings of the composer’s music.

Topics

Our books help nurture children’s innate curiosity about the world around. The themes covered span the whole range of human interest. Although there is a focus on the natural world our books also cover science and geography, transport and machines, history, music and art.

Age range

Our My First Discoveries title are divided into three broad age ranges (3-5, 4-6 and 5-7 years) according to the complexity of the language used and the concepts presented. In the lower age range, the narrative is mostly visual. The text is simple and directly supported by the illustrations. In the higher age groups more complex concepts are presented using a wider range of vocabulary and more technical language.
